THINGS TO CONSIDER DURING THE INTERNSHIP
1. Internship Dates: The internship dates for our students who will do their internships in the summer semester of the 2024-2025 Academic Year are as follows:
JULY 7, 2025 – AUGUST 31, 2025
Internship Book Submission Date: 06.10.2025
(Delivered within 3 weeks of school opening)
The INTERNSHIP COMMISSION reviews the internship documents and makes a decision within 6 weeks of the school opening.
*Except for special circumstances, it is mandatory to comply with the above-mentioned dates.
2. Internship Location : The types of workplaces where internships will take place are determined by sub-unit internship committees, based on the characteristics of the department’s curriculum. Internships will be conducted in workplaces relevant to their program and where students can apply and strengthen the knowledge and skills they have gained through their training.
3. Internship Exemption: Students who have previously studied at another higher education institution and have been placed in any of our departments through centralized exams or horizontal transfer may apply to the relevant sub-unit (departmental internship) commission for exemption from an internship they completed at their previous higher education institution, submitting official documentation from their previous institution. The final decision regarding this exemption will be finalized and announced within 10 (ten) days of the application’s receipt by the commission.
4. Internship Application: Download three Internship Application Forms from our website. First, have them signed by the employer where you will be doing your internship and then have them approved by the department head. After approval, have them signed by Halit Toker, the School Secretary. They must be submitted to the Accrual Service two weeks before the internship begins.
(Those who do not have a passport photo can print the application form by adding a photo to the Word document from their computer.)
5. After submitting the form, collect the internship notebook from the School Secretary, Halit TOKER. Paste your photo into the internship notebook, fill in the relevant fields, have it signed by the department head, and take it to your workplace.
6. Fill out the report sections of the internship notebook and the timesheet forms on the back page of the internship notebook for the month you worked and have them signed by your supervisor at the workplace.
7. Have the internship success form signed and stamped by the workplace authorities and submitted in a sealed envelope along with the internship notebook.
* In order for workplaces to receive State Subsidy, they must declare their staff numbers (excluding intern students) and whether they will pay interns .
8. Evaluation Schedule: In accordance with Article 11, paragraph a, of the Afyon Kocatepe University Undergraduate Programs Summer Internship Directive, the student must submit the internship file to the departmental internship committee within the first three weeks of the semester following the end of the internship. Accordingly, the internship committee meets within the first six weeks of each semester to review the internship documents, reach decisions within the timeframe specified in the directive, and, with the approval of the Unit Internship Committee Chair, submits the results to the School Directorate with a cover letter.
9. Graduating students must submit their internship records no later than three weeks after the internship ends. Students who fail to submit their documents on time will not be accepted for internships. Students who submit their internship records will be required to prepare their diplomas collectively.
